If you’ve ever felt muscle pain or other side effects from statin drugs… the mainstream has a message for you.
It’s NOT the drugs. It’s YOU!
They’re out with a new report that claims you’re an absolute head case if you’ve ever had side effects from those cholesterol-cutting drugs.
They say the side effects you think you felt AREN’T real… DIDN’T happen… and were MERE projection on your part.
It’s the opposite of a placebo effect.
They claim it’s the “NOCEBO” effect -- or you pretty much willed yourself into suffering from side effects just because you expected them.
Now that they’ve cleared that up, they want you to try the drugs again – as if you can click your heels three times and watch the side effects VANISH.
But don’t follow them down the NOCEBO-brick road just yet, my friend… because there’s something hiding behind the curtains here.
The TRUTH about that statin study
This new study was just about the WACKIEST thing I’ve ever seen – and believe me, I’ve seen about three lifetimes’ worth of wacky already.
I’m talking “Twilight Zone”-level weird.
Patients who had previously taken statins… but quit due to side effects… were given a box with 12 bottles in it.
Four had statins. Four had placebos. And four had nothing at all. But they didn’t know which was which.
Every month, they had to pick a bottle and stick with it for that whole month, while listing any side effects such as muscle pain in an app.
Using this daffy setup -- and with a whole lot of fiddling with the numbers -- they concluded that 90% of statin side effects were this "nocebo" business, while just 10% were caused by the drug.
They were even able to convince HALF of these folks to JUMP BACK onto the statin wagon!
Maybe they stopped feeling the side effects. Or maybe the researchers just made them feel like dummies… so they shut up and took the pills.
But this grand “announcement” from these researchers ignores 3 key points:
- There is a biological reason for the most notorious side effect of muscle pain: Statins suck your CoQ10 levels FLAT! And your muscles depend on the stuff for energy… so when those levels sink, you can get that notorious pain.
- Statin muscle pain can be a sign of rhabdomyolysis, or when muscle breaks down and goes into the blood. Your kidneys then try to filter that blood… but it’s like having sand in the gas tank. Your kidneys sputter, and you could suffer kidney damage or even kidney failure. And it would take quite the imagination to WILL yourself into kidney failure!
- D’ya think you can dream up a case of diabetes? Because that’s another notorious statin side effect: Studies show somewhere between 1 in 50 and 1 in 200 patients on statins will develop diabetes because of the drugs. But I suppose that’s all in your head, too.
Now, setting ALL that aside a moment, there’s another reason why you want nothing to do with these meds.
These drugs DO NOT save lives -- full stop, period, end of story.
One recent study found NO SURVIVAL BENEFIT when given to healthy people between the ages of 50 and 75…
And just 1 heart attack prevented for every 100 people on the drugs for 2.5 years.
Impressed? Me neither.
There’s a better approach for cardiovascular protection.
Skip junk food… cut the carbs… avoid the sugars… and eat only natural foods.
And on top of that, I recommend L-carnitine (1,000 mg), coenzyme Q10 (100 mg), magnesium (500 to 800 mg), and vitamin E as mixed tocopherols (400 to 800 IU) for good health and maximum protection.
